Chapman UK also supplied, Chapman’s special off-road tracking vehicle, the Dually. Fitted with special tank tracks for coping with the thick mud, the Dually could carry a 30’ Lenny arm crane or a Hydrascope and easily kept up with the fleet of Sherman Tanks providing some fantastic shots for the films many Tank sequences. The Hydrascope proved a hit with camera operator Des Whelan, who marveled at its ability to cope with the freezing temperatures and driving rain (no rain cover needed as it is waterproof). The production also benefited from classic grip equipment in the form of our Dollies & track, camera sliders and vibration isolators, ensuring DOP Roman Vasyanov had rock steady shots regardless of the challenging conditions..
